Halmstad University has an extensive international cooperation which include all schools and departments and comprise all continents.

Every year several hundred students apply from around the world for studies here, exchange students as well as free movers. The difference between an exchange student and a free mover is that an exchange student is applying within an exchange agreement between two universities. A free mover is applying along side other Swedish students and is processed by the admissions office at the university, whereas an exchange student is processed by the International office and the school who owns the agreement. Consequently exchange students and free movers have different application forms and also different pages on the web site. There can also be a difference in which courses that are available. On the courses and programs page you will be asked to choose between exchange student graduate and undergraduate and free mover graduate and undergraduate. Please make sure that you are looking at the right page and that you are using the right apllication form.

Please note that Halmstad University does not use the services of agents in foreign countries to recruit students. Non-exchange students are to apply on their own directly to the university.
