Halmstad University is a university which crosses boundaries - for
innovation and creativity! The university offers a wide choice of
study programmes to approximately 7,000 students. Most of the study
programmes leads to either a Bachelor's or Master's degree. The
university has well-developed research environments, most with a
unique national or international profile. Just recently, the university has decided on a new presentation on the Internet. The university offers courses both in Halmstad and Varberg as well as through distance learning schemes. Halmstad University is however more than just a seat of learning. The University of Halmstad recently celebrated its 20th anniversary as an independent institution of higher education with its own vice-chancellor. The first courses in tertiary education began in 1973. At present the University has some 40 degree programmes, 7000 students and 500 employees.
